PalmOne Tungsten T5 PDA
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: New PalmOne Handheld
PalmOne has posted on their website http://www.palmone.com a new Tungsten T5 PDA. Some of its productivity special features are: 256MB of storage: Carry documents, photos, and still have plenty of room for your favorite songs. The handheld that doesn't forget. Thanks to 160MB flash memory, the information on your handheld is saved even if the power runs down. So your data is safe even when you're on the go and you don't have time to recharge or synchronize. Stunning, extra large color display. With its 320x480 color display, you can choose the best way to work. View your schedule and Word documents in portrait mode and see spreadsheets and web pages in landscape mode in incredibly sharp detail. New file transfer. Drag-and-drop files and folders from your desktop to your handheld and back again. And with Documents To Go you can take your important business files with you, edit and use them when-ever you want. Grabbing info to go is that simple. Doubles as a flash drive. With the new File Transfer application on the Tungsten T5, you can quickly transfer the files and folders you need before you leave the office. Access them on the go or simply plug it into another computer and work on your files anywhere. Just when you're thinking there couldn't be room for anything more, Tungsten T5 has built-in Bluetooth wireless technology so you can check email and connect to the Internet on the go. The Tungsten T5 will be priced at USD 399 and will be available worldwide in PalmOne Store starting 3 November 2004.

How to send money to your kids abroad with only Rp 5,000
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: Alto Fund Transfer
Alto Fund Transfer allows you to send money up to Rp 10 million per day to any Alto member banks. And the cost of this online realtime Alto fund transfer is IDR 5,000 (five thousand Indonesian Rupiah). This is instant money transfer, faster than Western Union or MoneyGram. Don't pay the premium transfer fee. Some local banks will charge you IDR 35,000 to send money to Singapore, and the money will arrive after several days, with no guarantee to reach in full amount. Alto Fund Transfer is cheaper, instant transfer, and your kids will get it as soon as you have completed the transfer. Let's say you have a PermataBank or Lippobank account and you open a BII bank account for your kids. You can transfer money from your PermataBank or Lippobank account to BII account 24-hours a-day 7-days a-week. The cost of money transfer for Alto Fund Transfer is only Rp 5,000. Afterwards, you could send SMS (short message) to your kids, saying you have transfered the money. And your kids, let's assume in Singapore, should be able to withdraw funds from BII savings account using DBSBank and POSB ATM for free. (Soon, sometimes in February 2005, the same will be applicable to Danamon accounts receiving funds from other Alto member bank account). If you have a PermataBank account, you could also use PermataMobile, a mobile-banking facility to use Alto Fund Transfer. Assuming your kids have a BII account. You need to register at PermataATM to use this PermataMobile facility. Upon confirmation of the registration or enrollment, you have your TIN (telephone identification number) ready. The following sample is how to send money via Alto Fund Transfer from your PermataBank account to BII account. The costs of Alto Fund Transfer is Rp 5,000. Enter the SMS as: TRF TO BANK BII 1106106194 RP 5000000 HP 0816103881 The sum of Rp 5 million will be sent to BII account number 1106106194 and a notification SMS will be sent to 0816103881.

The illustration I used have been tested with PermataBank ATM card to send money to BII account using PermataBank ATM, or Lippobank ATM. This will be applicable to ATM of PermataBank, Lippobank, Panin Bank, Bank Haga, Bank Hagakita, Bank Ekonomi, and you can use PermataATM card, Lippobank ATM card, Panin ATM card, Bukopin ATM card, Ekonomi ATM card, Haga ATM card, Kesawan ATM card, Bank Nusantara Parahyangan ATM card etc. ATM of Bank BII, Bank Bukopin and Bank Danamon currently accept only transfer using their own ATM card (BII card using BII ATM, Bukopin card using Bukopin ATM, Danamon card using Danamon ATM).

For you having only BCA ATM card, or Niaga ATM card, you may use PermataBank ATM to send money to BII account.

PalmOne Zire72 GPRS SETTINGS
Mood:  caffeinated
I have been struggling through months, day and night just to configure my PalmOne Zire72 PDA to connect to the Internet. If I can send and receive emails, browse the Internet using just my Zire72 PDA and Siemens S55 Bluetooth cell phone, I can save hours just to sit in front of computer. Now I can send and receive emails about anywhere, anytime as long as my GSM provider has strong signals.

Please see my network settings on how to connect to the Internet.
